What Materials Must Customers Provide to Customize an Automatic Riveting Machine? A Preparation Checklist - BISUDI
What materials must customers provide to customize an automatic riveting machine? A preparation checklist
Automatic riveting machines are mostly "standard main unit + non-standard tooling", and customization accuracy depends on the materials the customer provides. With all materials provided at once, the engineer can give a solution and price range in about 10 minutes; incomplete materials require repeated confirmation and can even cause selection deviation. This article is a preparation checklist you can follow directly.
I. Rivet materials (most important)
| Material | Specific Parameters | Best Way to Provide |
|---|---|---|
| Rivet type | Blind rivet/pull rivet, rivet nut, structural rivet, etc. | Name + physical photo |
| Specification dimensions | Head diameter, shank diameter, mandrel length, head flange thickness | Spec sheet or caliper-measurement photo |
| Material | Iron, aluminum, stainless steel, copper and surface treatment | Marking the material grade is even better |
| Samples | Prepare sufficient samples of each specification | Send samples for channel and trial verification |
II. Workpiece and riveting requirements
Provide drawings or photos of the workpieces to be riveted, noting material, plate thickness and number of stacked layers; mark the rivet point count, point spacing and distribution of each workpiece (ideally directly on the drawing); state post-riveting requirements such as pull-out force, appearance (whether scratches are allowed), waterproof/anti-loosening requirements. Point accessibility determines the gun-head shape and fixture design, and especially needs early confirmation when spacing is too small or points are near edges.
III. Capacity and cycle requirements
State daily output, shift duration (e.g. 8 hours/day or two shifts), the allowed riveting time per piece, and the current manual cycle. These data are used to judge single gun, dual-gun one-out-of-two or robot cell, and to calculate machine count and payback period. BISUDI common models run about 80 cycles/minute and one machine replaces about 3 workers, with stable batch lines commonly paying back in 2-6 months.

IV. Equipment form and site conditions
| Item | What to State |
|---|---|
| Equipment form | Handheld, tabletop/fixed, dual-gun one-out-of-two, robotic riveting cell |
| Station space | Main-unit placement, allowed main-unit-to-gun distance, feed-tube routing |
| Air and power | Air pump pressure and displacement, site voltage (normally 220V) |
| Multi-variety changeover | Rivet specification variety, changeover frequency, whether quick-change nozzles/multi-channel are needed |
| Automation integration | Whether line integration, PLC signals, robot or tooling/fixture linkage is needed |
V. Delivery and commercial requirements
Also state the expected lead time, delivery address, whether on-site installation/commissioning and training are needed, and invoicing and payment methods. BISUDI standard models can ship quickly from stock; non-standard models are quoted separately by design, purchased parts and assembly with the lead time written in the contract. The whole machine carries a 1-year warranty, non-human issues 7-day return and 15-day exchange, and nationwide customers can all first book a free on-site trial.
VI. Details to check in the quotation and contract
| Check Item | What Should Be Written |
|---|---|
| Model configuration | Main-unit model, pulling force, single/dual gun, feeding method, processable rivet spec range |
| Spare parts with machine | Nozzle count and specs, wear parts such as jaws and ejector pins, dedicated tools |
| Non-standard content | Specific design and cost of channels, fixtures, worktables and robot integration |
| Price basis | Whether tax and freight are included, whether installation/training is charged, payment milestones |
| Lead time and acceptance | Shipping time, acceptance standards, breach liability |
| Warranty and after-sales | 1-year warranty terms, applicability of 7-day return/15-day exchange, parts supply and response time |
A proper quotation should let the customer see where every cost goes. BISUDI standard machines are one-price by configuration and non-standard items are quoted separately; the quotation is a contract annex, with no "low-price signing then price increase at delivery".
You can still start the conversation with incomplete materials: without drawings, use a phone to photograph the front and back of the workpiece, the rivet positions and the nameplate, and use calipers to measure plate thickness and rivet dimensions to start a preliminary assessment; the engineer will list the additional information needed from the photos, and the customer only confirms item by item - there is no need to wait for "perfect" materials before consulting, and early involvement actually avoids a riveting process that is hard to realize after the product is finalized.
Customization Materials FAQ
Materials FAQ
Yes. Provide the physical rivets and workpieces and point photos, and state output requirements; the engineer can help with surveying and parameter confirmation, and if necessary samples can be sent to the factory for sampling.
Similar specifications can be compatible via nozzle changes and channel adjustment; for very different rivets, multi-channel or multi-machine division is recommended, and a clear recommendation is given at material review.
When specification and workpiece information is complete, a solution and price range is given in about 10 minutes; complex solutions needing non-standard design generally get a preliminary solution within 1 business day.
Affected by component and outsourced-processing price fluctuations, quotations generally state a validity period, with common configurations relatively stable; lock scheduling early after confirming the solution for more secure peak-season lead times.
