Aluminum-profile Cabinets / Power-supply Enclosure Riveting Solutions
Electronics & Electrical · Cabinet Automatic Riveter · Aluminum-profile Cabinet / Power-supply Enclosure Riveting Solutions
In computer/telecom, electronic equipment, electrical machinery and device manufacturing, aluminum-profile chassis, server and telecom cabinets, electrical switchgear cabinets, power-supply and lighting structural parts are produced in large batches. Cabinet frames, covers, doors, power-supply enclosures and luminaire structures widely use thin sheet, aluminum profiles and coated panels, where preventing missed rivets at dense points and scratches on visible surfaces are the main concerns. BISUDI provides scratch-proof dual-gun riveters, fast-feed riveting machines and rivet nut tools, with free on-site trials for cabinet enterprises nationwide.
Typical Workpieces & Selection
| Workpiece | Common Fasteners | Recommended Model |
|---|---|---|
| Server / telecom aluminum cabinets | Ø3.0-4.8 rivets | One-to-two dual-gun riveter |
| Electrical switchgear cabinets, doors | Rivets + M5-M10 rivet nuts | Riveting machine + rivet nut tool |
| Power-supply enclosures, luminaire structures | Ø2.4-3.2 small rivets | Bench-top / small-gun-head model |
| Displays, equipment panels | Coated panels, high appearance grade | Scratch-proof suspended model |
Cabinet Labor Comparison (per unit)
| Item | Manual riveting | Auto-feed |
|---|---|---|
| Riveting labor time | About 25-40 min/person | About 8-15 min, 1 operator |
| Panel surface quality | High risk of scratches/indentations | Scratch-proof nozzles, consistent rivets |
| Miss-rivet control | Visual check, high night-shift risk | Count to target, incomplete alert |
| Internal threads in doors | Tapping prone to thread stripping | Rivet nuts formed in one stroke, removable |
Solution Highlights
For servers and cabinets, prioritize parallel dual guns with counting error-proofing; use rivet nuts instead of tapping for aluminum cabinet doors and mounting plates; choose small-gun-head, low-force models for small power-supply and luminaire parts.
Three branded-cabinet assembly lines each originally had 4 riveting workers. After introducing 9 one-to-two dual-gun riveters with counting and switching doors to rivet nuts, each line was reduced to 2 workers, cycle time improved by about one third, night-shift missed rivets fell to zero, and rework from on-site door hole changes dropped sharply.
FAQ
Choose nylon/chrome-plated contact parts and control stroke and force; during the trial we verify with same-process panels that there are no indentations before finalizing, and use fixtures to isolate high-appearance surfaces.
Rivet nuts cold-form internal threads in one stroke on thin/aluminum sheet - no tapping, no deformation on the back, repeatedly removable, and can be added even after powder coating.
In-line models provide IO signals to interface with PLC; standalone machines support counting and in-position alerts. Implementation can be phased - replace manual labor first, then integrate with the line.
